Recording
The Adams County Recording Department is responsible for recording and preserving public documents, including real estate records, maps, plats, and any other documents where there is a need for a public record.
The Department:
- Provides a grantor/grantee index for all recorded documents; we do not provide Tract indexing.
- Provides copies of recorded documents per request
- Issues and records Marriage and Civil Union Licenses
- Accepts passports on behalf of the U.S. Department of State
Please Note: The Recording Department will record any document submitted by a customer that meets the basic requirements for recording. However, recording a document does not imply that the document is legally valid or authentic. It is the responsibility of the parties involved to ensure the legality and accuracy of the content.
The Clerk & Recorder’s Office does NOT supply any blank forms. For all form needs, contact a title company or an office supply store.
Effective July 1, 2025, in compliance with C.R.S. 30-1-103, our recording fee structure has been updated from $13 for the first page and $5 for each additional page to $43 per document.
Please note death certificates are exempt from any fees.
