Pelican Ponds

Purpose Statement

To significantly enhance quality of life, enrich communities & INSPIRE

Pelican Ponds is a 200-acre open space property located along the west bank of the South Platte River at 9200 Riverdale Rd., Thornton, that opened to the public in June 2019.

The project is complete and includes trails and walking paths along with small shelters and fishing along the ponds further into the property. It also connects to the South Platte River Trail and is currently open for use. A nature play area was also completed and opened for use in October 2020.
