Foster Care

Foster care is a temporary living situation for children whose parents cannot take care of them and whose need for care has come to the attention of the child welfare system.

A foster parent’s role is to temporarily provide a safe and stable home for children in crisis. Foster parents provide support, guidance, and care for the children in their foster homes.

There are currently 3,892 youths in Colorado’s foster care system. Having a foster parent can offer these youths an opportunity to achieve their full potential and to develop positive relationships within their community.

We are always in need of people who can provide a stable and caring home to children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Foster care provides children with a temporary time to heal until they can return home, be adopted, or live independently.

To learn more about how you can become a foster parent, attend an upcoming information meeting.
