Clerk to the Board: Everything You Need to Know
The Clerk to the Board is the custodian of the records and papers of the Board of County Commissioners. The position is a part of the County Manager’s Office. The Clerk to the Board attends all meetings, prepares agendas, and maintains a record of board proceedings, including all scheduled or special board meetings. Proper notices under the Open Meetings Law are the responsibility of the Clerk. The Clerk is responsible for attesting certifiable actions of the Board, including resolutions, contractual agreements, ordinances, and other documents necessary to Board actions and the general business of the County.
The Clerk also administers the process of appointing Adams County residents to county advisory boards and commissions.

Public Hearings
Public Hearings are held in the First Floor Public Hearing Room at the Adams County Government Center, 4430 S Adams County Parkway, Brighton. Meetings can also be viewed on our YouTube Channel.
Public comments can be submitted via the agenda link, available from the time the agenda is posted until 4:30 P.M. on the Monday before the hearing.

Public Study Sessions
Public study sessions are information-gathering meetings for the Board of County Commissioners and are open to the public. Study sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays following public hearings and may also be held on Wednesdays, depending upon the needs of the county.

Communication Accommodations
Anyone requiring an auxiliary aid, assistive listening equipment, alternative format, or other services for effective communication to participate in a program, service, or activity (meeting) should make the request as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event. Adams County Government will generally, upon request, provide appropriate aids and services leading to effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities so they can participate equally in its programs, services, and activities. We offer services including qualified sign language interpreters and other ways of making information and communications accessible to people who have speech, hearing, or vision impairments.

Interpretation or Translation Accommodations
