Escrow Account Information

What is an Escrow Account?

A secure, prepaid internal account used exclusively by your business or agency to fund Adams County Motor Vehicle transactions.

Why use an escrow account?

  • Fast, efficient processing. Upon deposit, transactions are placed in queue for completion.
  • No fees to open or maintain.
  • Sufficient balance required to cover the full amount of each transaction.
  • Immediate access to deposited funds.

Note: A $41.00 returned item fee applies for any returned deposit. All future deposits must be made with certified funds (cash, money order, bank-certified check).

Accepted Payment Methods:

  • Cash
  • Paper Check
  • E-Check (+$1.00 fee)
  • Credit/Debit Card (+$0.75 + 2.25% service fee)

Note: E-checks may require pre-approval from your bank if fraud protection is in place. Returned items will result in a $41.00 fee and certified funds will be required for future deposits.

Close or refund account

  • Us the same form to request a refund or close your account.
  • Download the form Escrow Account Form.
  • Any remaining balance will be mailed by check to your escrow account address.
